To review: there is a large ocean liner filled with 1000 passengers and it is sinking!  There is only one life boat that can hold only 100 people.  One person more than 100 will cause the lifeboat to sink, too.  How will you fill your lifeboat?  Who will be on it?  Why?  Make sure you use all 100 seats, because human life (and all life) is precious.  You do not have to make a list of 100 people; you can however ALLOCATE a number, say for example, five seats for the cooks as Peter suggested, or as Bob suggested maybe just one since we may not need fine food on the lifeboat!  Please post your answers here in this forum, and also please share your comments on your classmates' ideas.  Finally remember that thankfully all your friends and family are home safe, so you do not need to give them a seat.

I will choose the thirty percent children, you know, the children are the hope of the future,if we can't finish things,we can give them to finish. For these children, I would choose to under ten years of age, because from birth to ten years old is the best time of brain development, if there is a good guide they will become very clever. Then I will choose 15 women, of course, they have to take care of the children, cooking and washing, and a very important reason, they and the men can produce generations of children to continue life. I chose 20 young people and 5 middle-aged people,young people can go to do some exploration and discovery, make some contribution, earn the money and so on. 5 middle-aged people can teach children knowledge, of course, they must be the teacher. The last 5 officials to make some important decisions ,they must be decisive and have leadership, then the 15 sailors to protect our lives, 10 scientists to do research.
