You are a member of a tribe that has lived  alone for all of history.  You have never met someone from another tribe, or even thought about the existence of another tribe.  One day, while out alone in the jungle, you come face to face with an "Other" - he has different skin color, different eyes, different body shape, a lot more hair or less hair, different color eyes, and he is dressed very differently if at all, and also speaks a different language.

Homework: pursuant to class discussion, what will you do?  You are face to face.  Among ideas we talked about in class are: capture, kiss, follow, give a gift, draw a picture. speak, use body language, etc.  You don't have to limit your decisions to these choices.  Also, what may the other person do in response to your action?

You can ask him to eat, for example, in front of him to catch a hare and then cooked, give him half. It can be show you are so friendly, he should not be refused, because most people will not refuse food. But he might be misunderstood as you were telling him how strong you are, show their you are powerful.because of the jealousy or dissatisfied ,he might be fight against you.

ps :Why cannot we wait for him to move first?

I like the p.s.!  Yes, maybe we should wait for him to move first.  In fact, that is what I think I would do - wait.  The interesting question then is what happens after he makes a move, do  you copy it?

As for the hare, it may be a laborious (lot of work) task to catch it and then the fire to cook it may feel threatening to the Other.  Maybe offering a piece of fruit is easier, and maybe one takes a bite first to to show it is healthy and not poisonous?  What do you think?
