For homework, please read Chapters 19-22 of Charlotte’s Web.

On the forum or in an email to me, please complete the following:

  1. Create three meaningful discussion questions to lead our next class.
  2. Consider the ending of the book. What do you like? What do you dislike? What lessons did you learn throughout this book?

Last, translate the following text from Chapter 19, “Up overhead, in the shadows of the ceiling, Charlotte crouched unseen, her front legs encircling her egg sac. Her heart was not beating as strongly as usual and she felt weary and old, but she was sure at last that she had saved Wilbur’s life, and she felt peaceful and contented.”

Translate from English to Chinese.  Then, looking at your Chinese translation, put it back into English (it does not have to be perfect!).

Peter's homework:

I have finished all the reading. In the ch.19-cn.22, I think the when the Wilbur require Templeton to get the egg sac for the friendship between Charlotte and Wilbur is the best scene. And the Charlotte can’t went back to the barn with Wilbur is the scene I dislike. From all the reading, I think I learned that we should value our friendship, we should give them our help when they in trouble.

到头顶上,在天花板的影子下,夏洛特蹲伏在不会被发现的地方,她的前脚包裹着她的蛋痂。她的心不像过去那么强烈并且感到疲惫,但是她必须确保在最后的时刻她救了夏洛特的命,并且感觉平静和满足。

The charlotte hided herself and try her best to protect her egg sac. She felt very tired without passion. But she should ensure the life of the charlotte has been saved, which satisfy herself.
