We talked about a LOT of words from this week's reading! Please post 5-10 sentences below using some of the new words listed below. I encourage you to use the words that you still are unsure about--I will help you correct them if you get a little bit off!
- Villains = bad people or enemy (opposite of hero)
Living conditions = the circumstances or situation that you live with (How much money you have, what kind of culture you live in, how many people you live with, what kind of house you live in)
Personality traits = characteristics
To nibble = little tiny bites
Are you pulling my leg = idiom for tricking or playing joke on me?
Repulsive / revolting = disgusting; gross
Absurd = really crazy; unbelievable
Mechanical = made with machine (Can also describe a robotic person)
Trememdous = humongous or very large
Astonishing = surprising
Tear off = to tear something and end up with a piece of it.
Bricks = building blocks for buildings or chimneys (sometimes red)
Dozing (to doze off) = napping / going to sleep for short amount of time (I must have dozed off for a minute...)
Jealous = wanting something that someone else has
Torture = to abuse; to feel/be treated very badly
Flabby = loose skin; fat
Bulged out = sticks out
Monstrous = huge; as big as a monster
Dough = batter to make cookies or bread
Curranty = refers to "currant" which is a fruit. (Almost looks like a dried blueberry or a raisin)
React = respond / answer
Circumstance = conditions / the surroundings or situations
