For class, please read chapters 11 and 12 (pages 161-180). In order to finish the book, please also go back to any chapters or places in the story you didn't understand, and take time to reread them and understand them.
Then, write an essay answering this prompt, using at least 200 words:
“Sixteen years on the streets and you can learn a lot. But all the wrong things, not the things you want to learn” (p.93).
Discuss this quote from the novel and how it applies to each of the boy’s lives. What things have they learned? What things might they have liked to learn? Support your ideas with what you know about the characters through examples from the novel.
Last, come up with 2 discussion questions to share with the class. Think of questions that may have more than one answer.
