Hello!

Congratulations on finishing The Westing Game!  The next book we read is called The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton.

For homework, please read p. 1-41 (Ch. 1, 2, and 3) of The Outsiders.

Tony and James, please choose one question to write about to sum up our discussion about The Westing Game. We will read your essays aloud and discuss them next class.

  • Do you think the Westing Game turned out as Sam Westing hoped? Explain your answer.
  • Are you satisfied with how the story ended? What would you change, if anything.
For everyone else, please focus on taking plenty of time to soak in this new book.  It is set in the past, so some of the expressions and activities may be different than today's.  If you don't know something after looking it up, write it down and we will talk about it!

See you next weekend!

James' Homework:

  • My answer to the second question--->>Are you satisfied with how the story ended? What would you change, if anything.

In my opinion ,I am not satisfied with the ended. If I am the writer, I'll let Sam Westing live much longer. I'll let him see how all his heirs manage his company and let him know how clever his heirs are. Sam Westing is a kind and smart person, and in China there is an old saying---One good turn deserves another, so Mr. Westing should live longer and have a happy time with his heirs in his later years.
