Homework for Lesson #21, The Crucible

For homework, we will read most of Act II. End your reading shortly after Cheever and Herrick enter, with, "Proctor: Who charged her? Cheever: Why, Abigail Williams charge her. Proctor: On what proof, what proof?" In my book it is page 69.

Then, prepare an essay topic of your choice. Written essays should be at least 150 words. You can choose to dissect some of the character relationships, research puritanism or the Salem Witch Trials (with sources), write about what you would do if you were one of the characters, or analyze the motives of a character, trying to prove that they are accusing people for different reasons. If you still need help deciding a topic, just email me. Also, if you absolutely and honestly don't have time to write a full essay, write a basic outline for an essay so you can give it verbally.
