Homework for Class #7: The Westing Game

Congratulations on finishing Kira-Kira! For next Saturday, please read Ch. 1-7 (p.1-39) of the The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin. It's a different style of writing, so be sure to take plenty of time to read it. There are many characters in this book, but don't worry--we will get it all sorted out in class if you get confused!

Translate the paragraph in Ch. 2 (p.6) of The Westing Game beginning “Naw,” Otis Amber, the old delivery boy, answered…” Remember, please translate it into Chinese and then back into English using your own words and sentences.

Then write an essay about the following question in Kira-Kira (200 word minimum):

1. How does Katie change throughout the book? Provide specific examples. What do you think Katie's future will be like? Why do you think that?
