For homework, please read chapters 7-10 (pages 91-136) of Jacob Have I Loved.

As writing homework, we are looking at characters' points of view, or perspective.  You have two assignments.

1. We only get to know Wheeze's point of view. Rewrite a part of the story of your choice from another character's point of view. (For instance, how does Caroline feel about her sister's attitude, or what does Hiram Wallace think about Call and Louise helping?)

2. In Jacob Have I Loved, Louise’s feelings change and at times may even seem contradictory. Please keep a log (a list) for each chapter about how Louise feels and your emotions towards her as a character.

Here is the poem we wrote together today. If you have ideas to make it better or to change it completely, do that and share it with the class next week!

Where are you, my Valentine?

I’m looking at you but you’re not mine.

Your hair is as smooth as silk.

Kira Kira, in your eye.

I want you to be my only guy.

If no, dog, let’s just play and chill.

The view of Caroline:
I was playing piano in the room just like before, but something unusual happened. Wheeze broke into the house, being wet from her head to toe. I wasn't sure, but I thought I saw sadness in her eyes, and she looked like that a warm comfort was the best and the only things she really needed now. I found that there weren't a moment that I felt how close me and her were, because it seemed that I could feel the sadness truly just like Wheeze and I using the same heart, and feeling the same heartbeat, the same emotion. I finally realized that no matter how bad I pretended to treat her, there was one thing that couldn't change--we are twins, we are a family. The sound of shutting the door went into my ears, so I hurried upstairs. Although Wheeze was saying something to drive me away, I knew that at that moment she needed me. That's Wheeze, never telling others what she really feels and leave them to herself. "Want me to rub your hair?" I asked. Just then, Wheeze finally broke down and cried. I understood that now, at least this moment ,she trust me and she depended on me. And I found Wheeze's heart and mine finally became closer and closer, just like the relationship that a couple of twins should be.
