Homework for Class #22: Holes

Daniel:

Person against himself: first, Stanley did not want to teach Zero how to learn and write, because he thought it was not his duty, he just want to care about himself. But at last, he found that Zero is clever and he need to study. So he try to teach Zero how to read and write.
People against people:Zero had a coflicting with zigzag. He almost kill zigzag. Because zigzag say some bad words to Stanley and Zero. So we can see Zero is very brave.
People against nature: the boys in Camp Green Lake dig holes under the hot sun. They have to fight with the snakes, scorpions and the yellow lizard. It is horrible because nature is much more powerful than humans.
People against society: There is a small society in Camp Green Lake. The lead is X-Ray. They do bad to Stanley but he didn't give up. He try to make friends with X-Ray and the strongest boy-Zero. Stanley is not a very strong boy, and he is just a kind boy, but he can servive in this dangerous society.

George:

I would choose person against nature. in the chapters, Stanley and Zero both tried to get away from the Camp, but outside world was not as "comfortable" as Camp Green Lake. there was no water but emptiness in the whole sight, with sand and dirt. And all they have to face isn't just the water problem, and also the yellow spotted lizards, and the temperature of the wasteland, so they had to find water and a place to avoid the sunlight and the lizards. Actually they had to fight with the whole wasteland creatures and the environment.
