On the forum, respond to the following (150 word minimum):
As Stanley adjusts to life at Camp Green Lake, he begins to mimic various
characteristics of the other campers. How does his personality change?
(Example response: The other campers are not always nice. They are tough and can be very selfish, as they are use to looking out for only themselves. Because Stanley longs to fit in with the rest of his peers, he develops many of these same attributes. He begins to only care about being accepted by the majority group, and in the process becomes selfish and inconsiderate to Zero. When Zero asks Stanley to help him learn how to read and write, Stanley refuses to teach him. “After digging all day, he didn’t have to strength to try and teach Zero to read and write. He needed to save his energy for the people who counted (p. 82).” )
Have fun!
