Hello Annice and Larry,
Please finish reading the assignment for this week. I've shortened the assignment for this next week, so please just read Chapters 3 to 4 (pp. 41 – 67) for the next class.
In order to help your understanding of the text, create three discussion questions that will be used to lead the class.
Remember, when you have more to read, you can find key words (the most important words) that help your understanding of the story. If you don't know a word well, but you still understand the sentence or the story, skip over it, and keep reading. We can talk about those words in class.
Again, if you don't know a word, that's okay! Often, readers keep reading over a word and just assume its meaning, simply so they can read more of the story and not be bothered with stopping to look in the dictionary so often. When you stop and look in a dictionary for so many words, it becomes way too hard to understand the story!
