For homework, Please write two or three sentences about when you had to face a fear. Have you ever? If not, please write about a time you could not face a fear.

To begin study of our next book, When Jessie Came Across the Sea, please read from the beginning of the story until Jessie’s arrival in America (the line “’Grandmother!’ Jessie thought. ‘If only you could see what I see now!’&rdquo

Then, please translate p. 3 beginning with “One evening, toward the end of the summer” into Chinese. You do not need to post your translation on the forum, but instead be prepared to translate a portion of your work back into English during next class. We will see how natural your translation sounds.
