For our next class, we are starting a new book!!! I am so excited!
Homework:
1. Please read Chapters One and Two (pp. 1 – 39) of In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson and write three discussion questions each about the story.
2.Write a paragraph about your first impression of the story.
3. Find 3 vocabulary words that you are not familiar with, and define them. After you do so, please provide 3 sentences with the words you chose.

I'm really interested in this book. Because it it's about a girl lived in China and move to America.Shirley first heard this news she felt very surprised. She doesn't want to go away. After, Shirley felt very excited, because she can saw her father. I think this will be a good book.

When I first time see this book,I get nothing from its title. After I read it,I felt surprise that the character is a Chinese girl.It is a hard book I think ,but also a good book.

Impression：
I'm very interested in this book,The title is a little bit long and the character is an independent and curious girl.She wanted to know what makes her mother happy,grandmother sad and grandfather angry.And then her grandfather agreed she went to the United States. At first she didn't want to go to the United States But later，she was not afraid of the life there.She met her father.And I think this book is harder than the Number the Stars.
