Sadako likes running very much and she was the member of bamboo class. But a misfortune befell her. She got leukemia. When she was sick, her best friend, Chizuko tell her a story about the thousand paper crane. So Sadako start making paper cranes. But at last, she was dead by leukemia. She only made six hundred and forty four paper cranes.

Great response, Shirley! The summary you gave is very thorough and I like the message you wrote to her. Yes, it is quite sad that she was not able to do a lot of things like run or attend her school's graduation because of her sickness.
