Great work finishing "The Big Wave!"  For next week, read chapters one – three of "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes."

Here are questions to keep in mind while reading:  Who is Sadako? Who are her family members? What does Sadako like to do? What holiday is the family celebrating? What does Sadako think about this holiday?

Also, keep in mind new vocabulary words that we can go over in class.  You can write them below, in a reply to this post, or you can wait to tell me during class.  If you have time, respond to the homework post from this last week by making sentences with the vocabulary words we went over.

Have fun!

Lovely work, Annice!  I'm glad you've already read it and posted.

To help you improve (although I'm already very impressed with your English skills), I'm including a couple grammar corrections that you can keep in mind.

For #4: They ARE celebrating the Peace Day.  When you put "ing" on the end of a verb, you have to change the whole sentence.  So the sentence could be "They celebrate/They celebrated" OR "They are celebrating."  I like the second one :-)

For #5: She cannot WAIT.  This is a fun phrase for when you get very excited about something.  Example: I can't wait for the World Cup soccer game!

Let me know if you have questions about these--I'd love to answer them!
