While you're reviewing the story, keep these questions in mind:
- What decision does Jiya make about going to live with the Old Gentleman?
- Why do you think that he makes this decision?
- How does Jiya overcome his fear as he grows up?
Also, here are the unfamiliar words we went over in class. You can respond to this post with several sentences containing the most challenging new words!
- sobbing = crying very hard
- ceiling = the top part of a room
- persuade = (pronounced per-sway-d) to convince someone to do something or have a certain opinion
- gathering = either a verb for people or items coming together or a noun for an event where people are together.
- cozy/cosy = comfortable and nice
- beneath = under or below
- sorrow = deep sadness
