Please make sentences with the words or phrasing that you were unsure of this week.  If you have questions about the usage of a word, write it in a post below and I will be happy to help you out!

  • Buffet/Ballet (the T's are not pronounced, so the words sound like buff-ay and bal-ay)
  • Foul = bad-smelling, rank, horrid
  • Luscious = delicious or plump, lovely 
  • unutterably = Augustus was unutterably vile, which means to was so horrid and disgusting that it couldn't even be put to words.
  • Nasty = disgusting, gross; the buffet food was nasty.
  • Pull yourself together! = A phrase you tell someone when they are so nervous/mad/excited that they are "all over the place."
  • Inconceivable = unbelievable; something you can't even imagine.
  • Stuck = when Augustus goes up the pipe, he becomes too fat and gets stuck (he can't move at all!)
  • Sensation = a feeling from one or more of your senses (smell, sight, hearing, taste, touch).
  • Gorge = to stuff yourself with food (i.e. We gorged ourselves last night for dinner.
