Hi Enya, I think you really understand what Jessie is feeling, especially the part about the grandmother being there. Jessis is excited about what she sees but wishes her grandmother could come too. Beautifully done.  See you on Thursday. Laraine

I think:if you see the Statue of Liberty,explain you arrived America.

This is very nice, Simon. I love that you used the word "solemn" to
describe Jessie's feelings. I think that is exactly the right word choice.
While I am sure there was joy and excitement, it must also have been a

Hi Mark, Great post! You certainly got the point of the story. Yes, Jessie will sew lace to earn money, exactly. And she will be fine. I like that you describe her as what we call in the States, a positive person. That is someone who thinks everything will turn out well.I bet you are a positive person too.
