We talked last night about homophones like root and route.Homophones are words that sound the same--the root homo means "same"--but have different spellings. I posted a video that gives you more examples of homophones. It also introduces you to homonyms. These are words that sound the same AND have the same spelling. But they mean different things in different sentences, for instance bear and bear. "I can't bear the weight of the basket." The bear was out in the garden eating carrots."

Please look at the video and think of other English homophones or homonyms you know.
