2. In a few sentences, summarize what has happened in the story so far.

Also write about what you believe will happen in the next three chapters.

Lastly, write about one thing you do not understand or what to know more about.

Excellent work, Shirley! I love the creativity in your sentences for "murmur" and "firm."

For "lopsided," the word is generally used to refer to a physical object that is uneven. For example, you can say, "The cake I baked was lopsided," or "His shoulders were slightly lopsided from always wearing his backpack on one side."

Great job with the summary and response! I hope your prediction is right!

Here are some grammar corrections:

Great job, Nicole! Lots of good thoughts posted here!

I should have told you this during class, but the word "pang" often comes in the form, "pang of ____(noun)"

For example, you could say, "Around dinner time, I felt a pang of hunger" or "When I could not find my favorite pencil, I felt a pang of disappointment."

In your sentence, you can change it to say "They know from the doctor that her pang of pain didn't stop..."

For the word "lopsided," Shirley also made the same mistake. I will explain this word in class today.

Some wonderful thoughts on the summary and predictions! Here are some corrections for your summary:

One of her best friends named Chizuko gives Sadako an idea. She thought that if they make one thousand paper cranes, Sadako will be healthy.
