Homework for Class #4: Kira-Kira

Lola's Homework:

Before Lynn was badly ill, Lynn and Katie were so closed that they talked about everything, shared about everything. Even though Lynn made new friend Amber and Katie didn't like her very much, Lynn still loved and cared about Katie very much. It is hard to imagine a situation that Lynn and Katie will argue with each other. Lynn played an important role in Katie's life. So when their little brother was born, they were so happy and took good care of each other. And that was the time Katie began to grow up. Because she noticed that she would't be the youngest one in the family any more. She also had the responsibility to take care of Sammy.So she thought that "Lynn took care of me. I took care of Sammy. And we all took care of one another" . Once they were camping and Sammy got in a trap, Katie went for help and finally saved Sammy.But she still got blamed by her parents just because Lynn was ill and Sammy was hurt. At that time Katie realized she had to grow up and carry on.But when Lynn got worse and worse, Katie thought of everything she could do to help Lynn and make Lynn feel happy.So she became the bigger one who needed to help her parents to take care of Lynn and Sammy.At that time ,the relationship tuned into"Katie took care of the rest of them."But Lynn‘s mood became changeable and easily got mad, they said the words that should never be said by them---"i hate you",and that might be the time when their relationship began to fall.

Shirley's Homework:

Discuss the relationship between Lynn and Katie. Katie says, "Lynn took care of me. I took care of Sammy. And we all took care of one another" (Ch.5 p.59). How does this change as the story progresses?

First, almost Lynn take care of Katie. I still remember there is a paragraph said that Katie and Lynn go to a filed and Lynn went into the filed to find some thing in it. But Katie is outside the filed. She waited Lynn for a long time, she got very anxious and she cried. I think she cried because Katie think she can’t leave Lynn and Lynn is always take care of her. 

But thing changed when they play with Sammy, she got some trouble and her leg was hurt. At that time Katie took care of Sammy with Lynn together, she doesn’t need Lynn to care about her when someone is in trouble. She doesn’t like a child that time, she can live without Lynn that time.

The same thing also happen when Lynn felt sick, that time Katie doesn’t Lynn to worry about her when she is sick, she just need to take medicine and become health again! I think Katie are grown up day by day, she doesn’t need Lynn to worry about her, Over concern(to care about her a lot), Katie now know a lot of things and be more Mature. Lynn can look at her in a new angle and be a friend not a younger sister
