In the epilogue to A Long Walk to Water, Salva Dut offers some advices to his readers. He tells the young people to stay calm when things are hard or not going right with them and to persevere instead of quitting. Sometimes one who perseveres will get a better end. In the story, Salva led many teenagers to the refugee camp. They didn’t have any adult with them but they just did the hard thing by themselves. Perhaps they had felt helpless and even wanted to give up during the hard trip, they still persevered in the end and finally reached the heaven. “Do your best, and god will do the rest”, when troubles come, try to fix it instead of give up. Just do your best and I’m sure god will help you with the rest.
