Reading and Writing Assignment for 12/18

Reading Assignment:  Read pages 1-30 of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Dresses

Writing Assignment : Write a  plot summary of The Big Wave. Limit the summary to one or two paragraphs. Use the fictional present tense to describe the events in the story.

Remember the 3^rd person singular almost always ends in s. Here's a partial summary to give you an idea of how you should go about completing the assignment:

 Pearl Buck's The Big Wave tells the story of Jiya and Kino, two young boys who spend their days swimming and fishing.  Jiya is the son of a fisherman while Kino is the son of a farmer, and that makes a huge difference in their lives when the big wave hits the shore.
