I will be talking more in class about using prefixes--one or more letters that get attached to the beginning of other words--and suffixes--one or more letters that get put on the ends of words. Knowing prefixes and suffixes will enlarge your vocabulary.
For instance, talkative means someone talks a lot. But if you add the prefix un, (meaning not) to make untalkative, you have changed the meaning. It now describes people who don't like to talk.
You probably know some of these already. But we will be working with more of them as time goes on. The video will give you a head start on that work. See you all soon. Laraine
