For homework, Please write a paragraph (4-5 sentences) about when you had to face a fear. Have you ever? If not, please write about a time you could not face a fear.

To begin study of our next book, When Jessie Came Across the Sea, please read from the beginning of the story until Jessie’s arrival in America (the line “’Grandmother!’ Jessie thought. ‘If only you could see what I see now!)

When I went to Disneyland, I went on the roller coaster. The roller coaster was so fast and very high that I felt afraid about the roller coaster ride. But I knew that I must face the fear or I could not enjoy the exciting feeling I have ever had. So I closed my eyes and tried to think nothing when I was on the roller coaster. A moment later I opened my eyes, and I realized that I was not afraid now! I was very proud my first roller caster ride now.

Great Response Sam!  Here are some grammatical issues to be aware of.  Please be aware of when you need to use the proposition "of."  For example:

1.  So I closed my eyes and tried to think OF nothing

2. I was very proud OF my first roller coaster ride.
