  • What kind of work did the women on the Island of the Blue Dolphins do before the Aleuts killed most of the people, and what kind of work do they do now? Use several simple sentences to explain.
  • Write your opinion: If you were Karana, would you have left the ship to go back for your brother? Why or why not?

Daniel's Homework:

The women were asked to stay at home, cook food and make clothing. Now they were asked not only to collect food but also need to hunt and prepare food for the winter.
When Karana faced this problem, it's hard to decide. It is true that somepeople chose to go back and find his brother, but it is more important to take others out of the island.
It is impossible for others to chose to save a boy. So do not save him is good for calm other people. And go back to save a boy have a high proportion for the storm to sink the ship. Other people maybe die.
But even through, I also decide to save him because HE IS MY BROTHER!!
