For homework, please finish reading the book (Chapter 26-30)!

Then, please create three discussion questions to lead next class with.  You will be playing teacher for the class, so make sure that your questions can be discussed by your classmates.  You can email these to me.

Next, please write a few sentences discussing how madness (craziness) can be a positive or negative thing, as we debated at the beginning of class today.  Larry, since you weren't with us, let me explain more.  We decided that Mr. Willy Wonka is completely crazy. However, the kids still go along with his factory tour and accept the craziness. So the question to discuss in writing is "Should we embrace madness (craziness) or should we defy it?"  You can email me your answer.

Please translate p.142 beginning with “Mr. Wonka suddenly exploded with excitement…” until the end of the page into Chinese.  Then, be prepared to translate your Chinese version back into English.

Vocabulary Review:

Whizzing - a "swoosh" sound as something is going by really quickly.

Rumblings - very similar to the "growl" sound your stomach makes when you're hungry.

Groan - like the sound older people make when they stand up after sitting for a long time.

Every other day - Every two days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday...

Have fun!!

George's Homework:

The first question is: On page 142. Mr Wonka said that he had a hunch, from the beginning, that is was going to be Charlie. If the winner were the another one, will Mr Wonka say the same words?
Next: Have an imagination, how did the other unlucky children get alive and how did they get out of the factory?
And the last is: if there were a machine that can be used to control time, did the children (except Charlie)want to have a chanse to go back and go into the factory again?
