For homework, please read chapters 8-9.

Please complete the following on the forum if you are able. Otherwise, please email me:
• Create at least one discussion question about Ch. 8-9 that you would  like to explore with your classmates. We will use the questions you create as a starting point for our next class.
•What are some differences you can notice in the movie of Bridge to Terabithia and the book? Are the differences significant?

Here are the video clips that you can watch!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX_9kYkaC_0

Please also translate the last paragraph on p. 105 in Ch. 8 beginning with “Leslie looked

decent…” to “ma’am naturally.”

Original Post

1) on P109, after they went to the church, Jess Leslie and May Bella were sitting on the back of the car. Leslie didn't believe that if someone doesn't belive Bible, God will damn you to the hell. And May Bella asked Jess "That's right, ain't it Jess?" Why didn't Jess anwer May Bella but hesitated for a moment?

2) Leslie was born in a writer family.Every family has a atmoshphere and it will affect the children in the family. So I think Leslie will be graceful girl. But Jess's family is quite poverty, and Jess does many chores for the family. Jess will be a brave boy. But when they swung across the creek in a rainy day, Jess was a little feared but Leslie didn't hesitate. Do you think it's strange?

I think the book is more detailed than the movie. For example, there is a scene in the book but not in the movie: Jess and Leslie sat on the staircase, watched the field and Bessie. Jess sent a stream of warm milk into Leslie's mouth and then, they laughed, giggled. This scene is warm and can futher help the author develope the theme about frendship.
